{"id":1699,"date":"2021-04-20T18:08:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T18:08:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.toponecrm.com\/blog\/?p=1699"},"modified":"2021-04-20T18:08:41","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T18:08:41","slug":"why-use-microsoft-flow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/toponecrm.com\/blog\/crm\/why-use-microsoft-flow\/","title":{"rendered":"Why use Microsoft Flow?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Microsoft flow helps you to simplify your day to day&nbsp;<strong>repetitive tasks<\/strong>&nbsp;to flows, that can run or execute automatically without much manual intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are a little familiar with\u00a0Dynamics 365  processes\u00a0or out of box workflows, where we usually configure actions for a repetitive task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will create a basic flow which will email new contacts created in Dynamics from the administrator confirming the contact has been created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Step 1:<\/span>\u00a0Access Microsoft flow directly from this URL:\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Step 2:<\/span>\u00a0Or if you have an Office 365 subscription, you can directly access Power Automate or flow from the\u00a0<span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>Office 365 App launcher<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spguides.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/access-microsoft-flow.png\" alt=\"access microsoft flow\" width=\"318\" height=\"517\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Step 3: <\/span>On the left hand of the screen we can navigate to <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">&#8220;My flows&#8221;<\/span> and select <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">&#8220;New Flow&#8221;<\/span> and from this dropdown menu we select <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">&#8220;Automated cloud flow&#8221;<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toponecrm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-20.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1700\" width=\"149\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/toponecrm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-20.png 202w, https:\/\/toponecrm.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image-20-99x300.png 99w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 149px) 100vw, 149px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Step 4:<\/span> You will see a prompt window like below, we can set the flow name to test. In the example below I have selected &#8220;People&#8221; and &#8220;Email Messages&#8221;. This is so when a new Person <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">(People)<\/span> is created we would like to send an email to the new contact confirming a <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Contact<\/span> has been created. This will be email that is entered upon creation of the contact in Dynamics. Here we can select manual test and create our <span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Contact<\/span> in Dynamics 365.
